“Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus Who died – more than that, Who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us”
Romans 8:34 NIV
James Goll, author of the book, ”The Prophetic Intercessor – Releasing God’s Purposes to Change Lives and Influence Nations”, stated that “intercession is the right to shape and make history, and each of us gets to step up to the plate as part of our calling as priests before the Lord”. Brethren, the devil is a destiny destroyer and in navigating new beginnings, we must embark on Spiritual Warfare. 2 Corinthians 10:4 reminds us that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds”.
Goll further stated, “one reason so many ministers and intercessors have been spiritually hit by the fiery darts of the enemy is because they have not responded to the law of purification”. Before we go “chasing external dragons and territorial spirits”, our lives must be pure, he added. We must allow the finger of God to probe our hearts, mind, and actions.
Additionally, there is a need for us to “repent when necessary” and bring cleansing to our own life through the power of the blood of Jesus. We must destroy the legal basis of the enemy to attack us and then take authority over his minions. It is important that we do not prematurely wage war against the power of darkness that has a foothold in our lives. Remove the foothold and we will have the authority to defeat the spirit of wickedness in heavenly places.
The late Dr Myles Munroe posited that God has a purpose for our lives. He declared, “The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but life without a reason. It is dangerous to be alive and not know why you were given life”. Thus, as we navigate new beginnings in the pursuit of our purpose, let us take note that we need to prayerfully intercede for each other, for there is strength in corporate prayer.
Note, God seeks those on bended knees, who are watching and praying, acknowledging that He is the strength of their lives and the source of their victories over the wiles of the enemy.
PRAY
Heavenly Father, we remember Your Word in Mark 11:24. In the name of Jesus, we ask that You save us from every demonic covenant that was made by our fore-parents and/or those made by us, knowingly or unknowingly. We repent of our transgressions. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness with Your refiner’s fire, so that we may be in right standing in Your presence and can successfully wage war against the wiles of the devil. Amen!
